Image Info

Edward E. Hussey was Superintendent of Sanford Mills for many years. He purchased this Queen Anne style "cottage" through a mail order catalog in the mid-1890s.

The economies of mass-produced homes attracted both the average man and the well-to-do. Hussey was one of the town's highest paid men.

The pre-fabricated parts were shipped by rail. The circular porch was added in the early 1900s. Sometime later it was replaced by a glassed in porch.
