The Northeast boundary of the United States was disputed territory in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Teams of surveyors were sent out periodically from Britain and the United States, commissioners appointed and negotiations conducted over a number of years to try and determine where the boundary between what is now New Brunswick, Canada, and Maine should be. This is one of the early maps of this endeavor. Scale [1:250,000]
