This postcard depicts a busy day at Congress Square, with the H.H. Hay Building prominently displaying a large Moxie billboard. Other business that can be seen are The Owls Barber Shop, Liberty Fruit, Empire Restaurant, and the Strand Theater.

The Hay Company was established in 1841 by Henry H. Hay as a wholesale and retail drug business, dealing also in paints, oils, and dyestuffs. After Hay died in 1895, his sons carried on the business under the name H.H. Hay & Sons.
