Image Info Arthur Schuh, a Lieutenant (Junior Grade) in the U.S. Navy Reserve during World War II, captured this photograph of Navy ships maneuvering in the Harbor at the U.S. Naval Frontier Base in Portland. Aside from his military duties, Schuh was also a professional photographer who captured photographs of military and civilian life during World War II in and around Casco Bay. Many of his images depict rarely-seen Naval activity and locations.
