Image Info A daguerreotype of Clara Moore Brown White (1844–1925) of Skowhegan, daughter of Charles B. and Thankful (Ellis) White. Born in Dixmont, she moved with her family to Skowhegan by 1860 and married James T. Leavitt of Norridgewock on June 9, 1861. An engaged community member, she was elected Maine Department President of the National Woman’s Relief Corps in 1890. She also served as President of the Skowhegan Woman’s Club and remained active in the local grange. She died on February 28, 1925.
