During the week of March 13, 1936, the raging waters of the Androscoggin River flooded the cities of Lewiston and Auburn. Gannett Publishing's aerial photograph division captured the devastation from their company plane, which provided eager readers with a dramatic bird's-eye view of the destruction caused by the record-setting flood.
