The Charles A. Eaton Company, also called the Eaton Shoe Factory, was located at 61-65 Gage Street in Augusta. The company was started around 1903 and continued until the mid-1920s, when the Capital City Shoe Corp. took over the building. In the 1930s the factory became the R.P. Hazzard Company, another shoe manufacturer. R.P. Hazzard occupied the building until the mid-1970s.
