Drawing of Sewall's Bridge, York. Labeled "Draught of a Bridge, built over York river, in the county of York of commonwealth of Massachusetts, 1761/Built by/The Property of Samuel Sewall 1791" (possibly 1771).

The bridge was built by Major Samuel Sewall, Jr. (1724-1814) of York and is the town's only National Engineering Landmark.

It is the first pile-driven drawbridge built in America. The bridge was rebuilt in 1933, but retains the form of the original construction.
