Assistant Surveyor Samuel Thompson, working under the authority of the Commissioners of the 7th Articles of the Treaty of Ghent, created this map of the South Shore of Lake Huron, including the area of Presque-Isle.

This map is part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay collection (Coll. 26), related to the drawing of the Northeast boundary between British Canada and the United States.
