Anthony Barclay and David Thompson created this double-sided rough manuscript map, part of an 8-map portfolio labeled "A" through "I," with detailed notes related to the drawing of the northern international boundary under the 7th article of the Treaty of Ghent (1814). This section is marked as "G," "Sheet No. 3 and Page No. 6," and the reverse "C," "Page No. 3 and Sheet No. 3." Surveys for the 6th and 7th Articles were undertaken between 1817-1827.

Locations in this survey include Loon Narrows, Little Vermillion Lake, and Lake Du Bois on the border of Minnesota and Ontario.

Members of the British Commission included Anthony Barclay, David Thompson, and Samuel Thompson. Members of the American Commission were Peter B. Porter and William Bird. These items are part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay collection (Coll. 26).
