George Sproule of New Brunswick compiled this map in 1798 following the Jay Treaty. The map designates the River Saint Croix as intended in the Treaty of Peace and is signed by Thomas Barclay, David Howell, Capt. Benson, and Witness by Secretary Ed Winston. This item is part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay collection (Coll. 26), related to the drawing of the Northeast boundary between British Canada and the United States.
