Surveyors working under the authority of the Commissioners of the 6th Articles of the Treaty of Ghent created this manuscript survey of the Mouth of Detroit River, which includes the Islands Bois Blanc, Sugar, Stoney, Fox, Hickory, Fighting, Grosse, Celeron, and Calf.

This map is part of a larger archive, the Thomas Barclay collection (Coll. 26), related to the drawing of the Northeast boundary between British Canada and the United States.
