This image of the passenger steamer Islander II was taken in 1910 as the 88 foot vessel left Boothbay Harbor under command of Captain Robert Westman. Islander II could carry 340 passengers and it was built at W. I. Adams Shipyard in East Boothbay. She was launched on April 18, 1908, christened by Miss Gladys Berry. The steamship's triple expansion engine was built by the Old Bath Iron Works. Islander II was built for the Boothbay - Augusta run from 1908 to 1926.
