"Adams & Burns (formerly the M. J. Allen Working Mill), at right; sash and blind factory just to the left. Somerset traction power station shows, well out into the river, on granite foundation. The building which carries the sign, " Door, Sash and Blind Factory," was operated for many years by J. H. Dane.
Just to the left of the power building may be seen the mill of the Kennebec Pulp Company. Over its roof and by the end of the building just mentioned is a structure which was once the C. A. Williams Skate Factory. All of these buildings, with the exception of the pulp mill, are now gone.
