A Tichnor Brothers postcard of The Lafayette Hotel in Portland from around 1938. Completed in 1903 by James Cunningham, the hotel contained 95 rooms. It was designed by Francis and Edward Fassett, who also designed the Columbia and the Congress Square Hotels. These Fassett-designed hotels were part of the Congress Street hotel boom from 1893 to 1903.

The caption reads, "The Lafayette, Portland, Me."
