Image Info

The caption reads, "Lake Pennesseewassee at sunset, Norway, Maine." The Lakes Region of Maine has more than 80 square miles of lakes spread over 900 square miles of land between the White Mountains and Standish. Lake Pennesseewassee, also known as Norway Lake, was the setting, in 1893, of the Bass Island Club, a local club for fishermen.

The Tichnor Brothers printing company published this type of postcard circa 1930-1945.
