Image Info

A Tichnor Brothers postcard of Union Station in Bangor from around 1935. One of the city's most beloved landmarks, Union Station, built in 1906, served as a transportation point for departing and returning military, as well as famous, people of the day. Franklin D. Roosevelt frequently traveled through Bangor with his family on his way to his summer home in New Brunswick. The station closed in 1960 due to a decrease in train travel.

The caption reads, "Union Station, Bangor, Maine."
