According to Lubec School Annual Reports, Roscoe C. Emery served as principal for one term in 1907, and apparently alternated periodically during 1908 with Mame S. Bennet, daughter of the legendary Lubec physician Eben H. Bennet. Emery’s last term as principal was the spring of 1909 when the average attendance was 39 students. He later returned to his native Eastport where he was editor of the Eastport Sentinel from 1914 until 1946. He also served several terms as mayor of Eastport.
