Image Info Wreckage from the fire in Old Orchard Beach taken on October 4, 1948. The block of the amusement park, known as Palace Playland was destroyed. The wooden roller coaster, the Old Mill ride, two game concessions, two summer cottages and two bathhouses were destroyed. Damages from the fire totaled $250,000.
