Image Info

A silver groat coin from the era of Queen Elizabeth I of Britain was found buried on Richmond Island. Walt Bagnall, the first settler there in 1628, probably buried it.

The writing on the front is, "ELIZABETH.D.G.ANG.FR.HIB.REGI" and on the reverse, "POSUI REV.ADIVTOREM.MEV" (I have made God my helper).
