Robert Henry Gay's senior portrait, Biddeford High School, Class of 1887. Robert Gay became a watchmaker, but had a love of photography and he pursued it as a hobby and as a side-business for most of his later life. He was descended from the Jordan's of Biddeford, and in the summer months lived at the Jordan home near Biddeford Pool. In the winter months he lived in Waterville. His images are the most complete documentation of turn of the century Biddeford, and in his later years he donated them to the McArthur Library.
