Image Info

Kebo Valley Club was founded in 1888 by Charles T. How and DeGrasse Fox among others. It opened the following year. The original Kebo Valley Club House (probably the one pictured) held a restaurant and theater. It burned down in 1899 and was promptly rebuilt in 1900. The surrounding land held a race track, tennis and croquet lawns, and a baseball field. There was no golf until 1892 when a six-hole course was designed. In 1896 there were nine holes and in 1916 more land was purchased for another nine holes. The 1947 fire burned down the second club house and a third was rebuilt for the next year's golf season.
