Portland architects John Calvin Stevens and John Howard Stevens drew plans for the Administration Building at the Maine State Sanatorium in Hebron.

On the first floor were the kitchen and dining room, office, assembly room, parlor and writing and reading rooms.

The facility for tuberculosis treatment opened in 1904. The Stevens' firm designed many of the buildings at the privately operated facility on Greenwood Mountain.
