The Moody Family pose for a photograph in front of their Rumford homestead, circa 1885.

Seated under the maple tree, center, is the family matriarch, Mary Gage (French) Moody. Originally from Kingfield, Mary Moody was related to the French and Stanley families.

Standing to her left is her son, William Moody; seated on the ground (holding a stick) is her other son, John Moody. John Moody served as the superintendent of Edward Little High School in Auburn in the 1870s.
