The manufacture of this chair is attributed to the Walter Cory Company, Exchange Street, Portland. Cory used interchangable mass-produced parts in order to lower the cost of chairs and increase production. The company later built a second plant in Westbrook.

Plain turned stiles surmounted with crest rail which extends beyond back posts. 1 rectangular slat in back. Serpentine arms supported by 2 spindles. Cane seat. 1 plain turned stretcher on each side and at back. Front stretcher ball turned with 3 incised lines. Painted wood grain with yellow striping on crest rail, back slat and front edge of seat. Base of legs notched for rockers.
