Radford Brothers of Portland made this mahogany cradle that is joined with dovetails, and furnished with brass handles.

Stephen Longfellow paid $4.50 for the cradle just after his first son, Stephen, was born. Longfellow was a loyal customer of the Radfords and bought chairs, cabinets, and beds from their shop.
