The aqua-colored glass bottle is embossed with the words, "Dr Langleys Root & Herb Bitters 76 Union St Boston."

Found during an archaeological dig at 47 Brown Street, Portland, in 2008, the bottle was made between 1845 and 1853.

J.O. Langley was a country doctor who made bitters from 1845 to 1857, but whose company continued as a large wholesale drug company.
