Pearl Hadley Matlock, who championed the stuffed mule as a mascot for her delegation, represented Missouri at the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs (NFBPWC) during their seventh annual convention in July 1925. The Portland Press Herald and Evening Express reported that mascots played a significant role in the festivities.
