Image Info

Well-known early Monhegan fisherman Bainbridge Davis kept watch from the doorway of his fish house.

This fish house is directly north of the Monhegan wharf, and as of 2016 is known as the "Barnacle". Bainbridge Davis shared the fish house with his son, Walter Davis.

The "B. L. Eaton" quarter board is from a ship that wrecked west of Manana Island in 1874. Many fish houses had name boards like this above their doorways.
