Image Info

A photograph of Dick Stride, the son of president of the Biddeford and Saco Railroad when the B&S car #31 was acquired by the Museum in 1939, with Theodore Santarelli de Brasch, one of the founders of the Seashore Trolley Museum. This picture was taken on the Museum's 25th Anniversary in 1964.

Mr. Stride is shown giving Mr. de Brasch a bank bag containing 3,000 nickels: a nickel being the cost of a trolley fare and 3000 nickels (or $150) being the price the Museum originally paid the railroad for the car. Also in the photo: Gerry Cunningham and Charlie Brown, all founders of Seashore.
