During the early 20th century, aviation was beginning to become more advanced and quickly more and more accomplished pilots were completing new records in the aviation industry. At the time Ruth Nichols held records for speed, altitude, and time for a female pilot, while Clarence Chamberlain became the second man to fly across the Atlantic Ocean with the first passenger.
