On July 12-18, 1925, nearly 2,000 women came to Portland from over 42 states to attend the Seventh Annual Convention of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs (NFBPWC). The local chapter of the organization hosted the event, which included committee meetings, introductions to parliamentary law, music, receptions, and sight-seeing tours.

Delegates dressed in costumes applicable to their home states, or carried and wore signs that indicate where they traveled from, which suggest a sense of playfulness and of camaraderie.

These women hail from Georgia. Their costume was supposed to resemble blossoming peach trees.
