Bill Yerxa, owner of Yerxa's Lumber and Sawmill which was located on the end of the Foxcroft Road in Houlton, owned this horse team.

The driver of the team was Ralph Cunliffe, a full time driver who delivered mill and slab wood to customers all over town in a wooden wheel cart equipped with a hand crank dump body.

In the background is the old grandstand with the stage in front which was used for entertainment. The police office standing in front of the half mile marker post of the horse track which at the time was known to be one of the best and fastest in the State.
