The Maine Central Railroad depot on Empire Road in Poland was known as the Elmwood Farm Station. James Sanborn of Chase and Sanborn Coffee gave Elmwood Farm its name and reported persuaded the MCRR to change the name of the station from "Empire" to "Elmwood Farm."
