Ruins of the Box Shop/Somesville Fire at the site of Crossman's Box Shop in Biddeford. Spectators look over the smoldering ruins.

The fire is thought to have been started by someone smoking in the Diamond Match Company's lumberyard in Saco. From there the fire spread across the river and into Biddeford.
