Former Governor Abner Coburn and his brother and business partner, Philander, built this home in Skowhegan. This photo shows a patriotic event, most likely a July 4th parade

The marching units are elements of the Grand Army of the Republic from Skowhegan and surrounding communities.

Governor Coburn served his term during the Civil War and was always supportive of veterans groups during his lifetime.
