The Louisburg Hotel was originally named the Atlantic House and built in 1874 on the site of the first Atlantic House that burned in 1873. Miss M.L. Balch purchased it in 1887 and renamed the hotel after Louisburg Square, Boston. It changed ownership several times and was leveled in 1939.
