Image Info

Delivery Wagon in Sanford Square, ca 1900. "Josh" Ford, the gentleman in this photograph, appears to be wearing a G.A.R. hat and, if so, was probably a veteran of the Civil War. The umbrella advertises Brown's Drug Store. This was on the corner of Washington and School Streets in the Leavitt Block. The wagon was probably used for making deliveries, a service most stores offered their customers at the turn of the century. In the background is the Hosea Willard home. Note the gazebo to the left.
