This photo is from an article about Leander Valentine, the first Mayor of Westbrook.

His house was built in 1810, and the caption describes his eulogy. "The house where wife was born and this brother of hers reared. At that open window (June 1st 1834) began our love for time and eternity , too. 'Our Maggie' the darling pet to my hallowed Thompson buggy hitched, which at our sweet Riverside Home we reared, was, and still is, as dear to her as me. The vacant seat in each carriage tells that two spirit-brides await us in our final, blissful spirit-home. The flowers in hand, though but indistinctly shown, are a simple token of out loving remembrance of the two departed ones.
M. B. W.
Saccarappa, Sept. 2d, 1892"
