Bangor and Aroostook Railroad snow plow built by the Russell Snow Plow Company of Ridgeway, Pennsylvania. This snow plow is located on a siding in Van Buren.Show Details
The snow plows had living quarters for the operator because they were sometimes gone "on the road" for days. In the rear of the car was a compartment for the operating pistons that powered the plow wings and the "flanger." The flanger feet cleared snow away from below the rail height to make clearance for the wheels.
