During prohibition, America banned laws surrounding alcohol which caused outrage from American citizens as a result. However, Canada during this time still allowed the production and exportation of alcohol, which caused a large economic benefit for Canada. Thus, Americans would illegal import Canadian alcohol for consumption during the prohibition period.
