Delegates to the 1925 National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Club Convention in Portland, held from July 12-18, 1925, traveled to Greenwood Garden on Peaks Island for a clambake -- the first time many of the more than 2,000 women from across the U.S. had eaten Maine lobster and crab.

Members of men's service clubs from Portland were the servers for the event.
