Margaret McKinney of Hoquiam, Washington, at left; and Mary E. Russell of Orono, pose for a photograph representing the delegates to the 1925 National Federal of Business and Professional Women's Club Convention in Portland who were from the points farthest west and farthest east.

McKinney was from Hoquiam, the farthest west -- and rainiest -- town in the U.S. with a BPW club; and Russell from the town farthest east with a BPW club.

The convention in July 1925 brought more than 2,000 members of Business and Professional Women's clubs to Portland.
