This photograph shows various Coburn Company steamboats at their winter location, Ship Yard Point on Moosehead Lake. The steamboats cruised the lake carrying freight, passengers, and supplies to locations on the lake during the summer but were hauled ashore when ice formed on the lake, often times as early as November, until ice the ice melted in April or May. The Moosehead II, the Marguerite, the Louisa and the Priscilla are among the steamers shown.
