This broadsheet advertisement is for the show Esther to be played at the Tuscan Opera House as well as a sale at W. G. Harlow's general store.

Esther is a three-act play written by Jean Racine in 1689. The subject of the play is taken from the biblical Book of Esther and it dates from the last period of Racine's career when he entered government work and was requested by Madame de Maintenon to return to writing liturgical drama.

A great variety of performances were put on at the Tuscan Opera House. Often the groups of players in these productions consisted of high school students and people of the town.
