Image Info

A stuffed and mounted giant ox, Mt. Katahdin, is shown on a float for the 1916 Corinna Centennial parade.

After the giant ox Mt. Katahdin died, he was stuffed and mounted and was often displayed in parades.

The parade float was sponsored by Bates & Titcomb, a Corinna meat market owned by JM Bates of Corinna and Lyndon Titcomb of North Newport. Lyndon Titcomb is the person shown driving the four-horse hitch in this image.
