Fred G. Milliken, photographer and writer for the Atlantic FIsherman magazine wrote, 'Usual type of modern weir. On north shores of Eastport, Maine. Owned by only news dealer in city Oscar H. Brown. He owns former sardine factory. Weir holds100 hogsheads of fish. Valued at $4,000.'
