Photographer George W. French took this picture of three men leading cattle down a road. French practiced taking photographs with strong shadows. He felt that shadows gave the picture more depth and interest.Show Details
French was born in Kezar Falls, attended Bates College, and worked as a photographer for the Maine Development Commission. He lived in New Jersey during much of the 1920s.
