Likely made with fabric manufactured at the Haskell family silk mill in Westbrook, this dress was worn by Mabel B. Haskell (1886-1968), grand-daughter of the mill's founder James Haskell, when she married Ernest Files on June 19, 1912.

It is in an asymmetrical design with a drape over one shoulder and lace around the neck. The dress includes princess lace, beads, tassels, and a tunic shape.The short-waist dress, despite its tubular design, was still worn with a corset.
