The Eliot Hotel, later given given the name "Green Acre" by poet John Greenleaf Whittier, was a summer gathering spot for intellectuals and spiritualists who gave talks and held discussions on a wide range of subjects.

Now known as the Sarah Farmer Inn, it is part of the Green Acre Baha'i School in Eliot.
